Default We have Factions end-game items, what about Prophecies?

Now that we have the Factions End-game items for finishing the game, why not have them for Prophecies? There is no real point to finishing Prophecies, there are no rewards worth real value.

A-Net please address this.

So beating a game is of no value to you?

"It's the journey, not the destination." If that was what you were going for, I could definately agree with you.. but you're not, you want items because an expansion gives you items.

So, should Prophecies have Challenge Missions, Alliance Missions, etc. ?

This is the same problem I see with the whole "upgrade my Sundering mod" thread. It seems people think ANet is trying to make one large game, but it's not... it's chapters. There are differences.

Should we have Titans, Glint, Rurik, Ascalon, Shiverpeaks and all the rest in Canatha too? You know... cause Prophecies has it...

[SPOILER ALERT]

Errm please tell me you didn't think that was the end of the game? >_> I have to ask cause so many poor people think Glint is the final boss and that just scares me and makes me laugh till I wet myself at the same time XD

I mean I see that you signed it and I am pretty sure it was sarcasm but I thought killing Rurik at the end was kinda fun >_>

I think the new tombs and SF items are susposed to be the GW:P equivalent. However if they get the chance, it couldn't hurt.

Ahhh Prophecies has been done for ages now. Why would they go back and do more to a finished product??? Remember Factions is a stand alone game that they have ALLOWED you to bring your already maxed out characters over from Tyria. that was a HUGE concession on their part. By no means was it ever required of them to allow this option, but it was a nice gesture.

People need to face the fact that for all intents You got what you paid for, If you have only Chapter one. then that's all you have access too. Period. And that game is now a 120% completed chapter. the extra 20% for all the bonus stuff you got to keep people enticed till new chapter material came out. Meaning SF update, and the new Tombs bonus area. AND the fact that they added all those Bosses and items to Many of the missions if not all.

Now I am not saying that areas in Tyria may not make an appearance in the future, as I am well expecting them too. BUT... If you don't purchase the chapter that includes those areas, you still will not have access to those areas. In the same way that if a person ONLY buys Factions and Not the Original too, they have no way to go to Tyria and play the original areas. That's only fair.

But if they didn't allow players to bring already existing charactars over, no one would be able to preview it, and thus fewer would buy it. Not to mention forbiding that would altar the entire PvP game.. And upset alot of PvErs that can't use their charactars there.

Overall, it was no concession, it's just simply a way to turn a profit.

What's wrong with improving on things you already have as well as creating new content? Leave it in the dust? There's still people playing prophecies you know, that might enjoy it more than factions. lol, come on HT, don't treat it like a cooked steak already, geez, lol.

Bringing Sorrow's Furnace to the table was proof that they brought new content to an old world. Sorrow's Furnace and Tombs can still be visited and adventured-through without having completed the game...

Does completing the game have any meaning to me? Sure, but I have no means to prove or show-off that I have completed the Prophecies campaign. Factions provides a great variety of ways to show it off. We need that for Prophecies!

I mean the original Guild Wars at the store is still $50.00!

Here's the reward for finishing Prophecies - You can enter FOW, new tombs, the Underworld. You still have to be ascended to get to those areas. One thing I have found is that the crossover characters are causing people in either side to want to go to the other to experience it, or get gear. Cantha folks see some of the items/armor/pets that bleed over from Tyria, and vice/versa. I've had some really nice comments on my armor (Warrior 15K Kurzick) and most of the time its something like "I've got to go play factions now - that armor is sweet". Cantha folks have asked me about my elder black widow I got from the Underworld and some of the gear I've had (shadow blades, eternal shields, chaos axes, etc.).

For me, I will probably play mostly in Tyria, its just so much bigger and explorable. I like some of the nice gear in Cantha, and the Kurzick armor is just outstanding (never liked FOW armor). With all the choices now available, you can really mix/match gear and items.

What really appeals to me is the titles, even if they are not all displayed. Going back, exploring all of Tyria (and as much of Cantha as possible), doing the secondarys on all the mission, etc. Even the crazy titles like drunkard are great! Once they get the bugs worked out on some of the things, it will be great, but overall I really like it.

Only thing I wish they would do is to make FOW/Underworld accessible all the time. Pay extra, beat massive mobs or bosses, whatever, just let us in whenever we want to go.

I'm sure they will return to the Tyrian lands eventually. There is a lot of open area left to exploit for future chapters. But Anet had said that Prophecies (the original game as it is now) was complete on many occasions just prior to Factions release. So it really should not be a surprise that not much more is going to happen to it beyond minor game engine fixes and balance issues. I don't expect anything major to happen to faction in fact till chapter three is about to be tested... Same reason. finishing little minor things to get ready for the next thing... After all the team that worked on Prophecies is now gearing up for chapter 4 as we speak...
